Turkey Day

This year the Nicolls side of the family was together in Fresno. Family drove from Utah, Las Vegas, and Monterey to spend Thanksgiving Day (and a couple days before and after) at my parents house. All together we had about 30 people at my parents house. We always get so excited weeks, even months, before we are going to see each other because we know we are in for a good time and a lot of laughs! This year, my mom and sister wanted to make Thanksgiving a little nicer than usual. We usually use paper plates and find our own seat. Well this year, they made nice place settings, along with placement cards (assigned seating), and a fun dessert table. All had a good time and it was a Thanksgiving I will always remember, especially since this is the last Thanksgiving where we will be living in California before we move to the other side of the country and hope to be able to come back for future holidays while going through medical school.
Two out of the four tables that were set up
Some cute decorations my sister put up. To the right is our "thankful tree". This was a tree that we were able to write what we were thankful for on. Some of them included: family and friends, a loving and forgiving Heavenly Father, Diet Mountain Dew and Beets, food, all of you, and a hard-working dedicated husband.
This was the dessert table. There were so many yummy desserts and we had SO MANY leftovers. Some of the desserts included: of course pumpkin pie, apple pie, chocolate pudding pie, banana pudding pie, german chocolate cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes, reeses peanut butter cupcakes and a fun treat called white trash (seriously sooo yummy!).
The kids table.
My dad made a "man cave" for the men. They moved the furniture from the living room into the garage and my dad set up a tv with surround sound in there for the men to watch their football games out of the house. It was perfect for the men.
Kensley was passed around all day long but her first stop was to grandma. She hung out with grandma and aunties in the kitchen while they finished last minute cooking stuff.
Our little turkey
All the cousins had a ball playing together.
And all the cousins loved Kensley. Maddox in particular just couldn't get enough of her.

We are so grateful for everything we have and especially grateful for the many friends and family we have to share these holidays with and be around during this time of the year.
