2011

We were supposed to spend New Years Eve with some friends of ours but they ended up canceling earlier in the day because they were sick :( So Austin and I decided we would throw our own party and just spend it at home with just our little family. We headed to Costco to get some finger foods for our little party! Later that evening, we found out that some different friends of ours were going to come over so we ended up spending a couple of hours with them. It was a low-key, relaxing evening...nothing like what this year has been! It's been unreal as to how busy this year has been.

2011 in review:

• We celebrated our 3rd anniversary
• Austin turned 29 and I turned 24.
• The first few months of the year Austin spent his spare time (and then some) studying for the MCAT all while we were both in school full-time.
• Austin took the MCAT in April (we are both glad that is over with!).
• Austin applied to 27 different medical schools.
• Austin got interviews at 9 different schools all over the country.
• Austin interviewed at 7 schools while I was in my last trimester and while we were both in school (glad that's over with too!).
• Out of those 7, he got accepted to 3 medical schools.
• We decided where we wanted to live and what school he wanted to go to and the winner is: Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
• We welcomed Kensley into the world who shares a birthday (barely!) with her brother.

As you can see, this year has mostly been focused around Austin :) As hard as it was for the both of us, we are thankful to have had a successful year filled with love and good health! We have so much to look forward to in 2012 including a big move across the country to Michigan and the start of a long journey through medical school!
